apparently, preschoolers who wake up to star wars, wake up happy.
it was a good morning. everyone got to school with minimal fussiness. the kids had a nice drop off. k was unhappy for a few seconds but recovered well. R was excited to share the book abiyoyo returns. the original book abiyoyo is based on a song that pete seeger adapted from a south african tale. apparently they read abiyoyo at school and R was excited to share the second book too. he seems so grown up. kelli, k's teacher, commented that she is talking so much more now that she is in older toddlers. she did her determined stride in the classroom as soon as she got there. kelli and i both burst out laughing as we both recognized it right away. on another note, i also spoke with one of r's teachers who said that he is doing well and seems to have adjusted quickly. she says he seems happy. as we have decided not pursue any more assistance at this point, we are happy to here that our perceptions about his progress match theirs.
for dinner we went to a restaurant. the kids were mostly calm and enjoyed the meal. i am coming down with k's cold and am tired as the kids are sleeping in their own beds!! but do frequently wake up in the middle of the night. we had another 2 hours in bed without a toddler yelling "space" and "my pillow." we both miss her but welcome the deeper sleep and the "extra" space.
