motherhood

two hours of tantrum in the morning but a happy return home. the kids came home seemingly not upset. R sat outside with his dad making calming down. k was very happy to talk to her nani and nana on the phone. her language has gotten much better. and she can carry on a conversation fairly well with some guidance. she was thrilled and kept repeating nani come house, nani come house. so you hear that nana and nani, k wants you to visit.

we had a fairly successful dinner. R ate spinach and cheese ravioli, tofu, and macaroni and cheese. K ate mac and cheese with soy chicken. afterwards, R worked on his aquasaurs from grandma joyce. he is very excited and it is a pretty cool gift. we are looking forward to completing it tomorrow. everyone ran around upstairs until bathtime which was pretty pleasant.

R practiced coming down from his bed a bit but was so talkative he could barely concentrate on what he was doing. he is not quite ready for the top bunk so we are going to have to find a full mattress for the bottom soon. he was upset with the consequence of his rule-breaking and calmed down as we read. he gets very stuck on the trauma (as suggested by this morning). he is still awake at 10:15 and complaining about being too scared to sleep. i am not sure what to do with that. he says he does not like bad and scary dreams. not sure what to think about them. Ruskin is asleep on the couch. tomorrow is friday -- hooray!
