grandma sue change bm

those were k's words this morning when she thought a bm was "coming." well grandma sue, we will wait for you to change the diaper, but you might want to come sooner rather than later. we took everyone's temperature this morning, and while k felt warm, the thermometer reported that no one had a fever.

ruskin had to give the students a test this morning so we tried to leave on the early side and arrived about our usual time. he reports that the test went well and no students cried. one test down. i dropped the kids off and K seemed pretty content. i went to my digital storytelling class for which i had not done my homework. not enough time to do it. oops. after that i run to a short meeting and invited my partner on a lunch date -- which he accepted! we barely got started discussing our plans for the weekend when his phone rang. it was easy to tell that it was the center calling to say one of the munchkins was ill and excluded. it was also easy to guess that it was K. we tried to figure out plans and decided to bring both monkeys home rather than try to come back and get him. so at 2:45 our workday ended and it was time to get home. the afternoon i needed to work on my paper and ruskin on his data never materialized.

both kids were in sad shape. k was clearly tired from not napping. and r was very groggy. ruskin put k down for a nap while i cheered the bug up. he was sad to miss eating the butter that they had made at the center during snack time. so i gave him some bread and butter which cheered him up. he was also thrilled with the new clothes i had gotten him. once he felt himself again, he was talking a mile a minute. he and dad headed off to the hardware store around 5 and k woke up immediately.

she was quite active despite her fever. i gave her meds and she stayed chipper. we read books and came down to drink liquids and eat dinner. she was quite hungry and ate a good amount of food. the boys came home and ate as well. then they worked on their ROBUG (robot bug) while k and i cleaned the kitchen floor. everyone went up for book and bed time. k was clearly exhausted and fell asleep in about 5 minutes. she is breathing a little heavy and is sleeping a little light so i am sitting here with her trying to make sure she hits a deep sleep. ruskin is in the recliner waiting for r to fall asleep. we are fortunate to have such two nice monkeys. it is hard to see them sick. but is really amazing even when she does not feel well.

we did not get to see the presidential candidate debates. but i hope that obama does well in them.
