K had a fever most of the night and was fussy and clingy though still sweet at times. it was not as restful as a night because of that. but we managed to sleep in until 8 when she adamantly wanted everyone up. "daddy ruskin wake up." she does like her daddy. r woke up eventually because he knew his friend mira was coming to play. he did not manage to eat any breakfast and was also rather grouchy as he was tired.
he and mira had a wild time. they do work themselves up when they are together. once we went out to dinner together and R got so riled up that he vomited. perhaps it was not such a bad thing that he did not eat breakfast. ruskin and i took the kids to the park to make good use of all that energy. the kids enjoyed running around. r practiced his climbing which was good. mira is quite agile. it was fun to see them scamper around. k tagged along and also played with her daddy.
everyone had some lunch and art time. mira headed home while r played. k took a short nap and was burning up again. she took some meds after a shorter than usual nap. r did not nap which meant he was all over the place. the rest of the evening was not that pretty. tantrums from him due to exhaustion and not a lot of food consumption. r got sent to bed without a bath as he did not cooperate. k was tired and will hopefully lose the fever. sometimes weekends are great. other times, they are just long.
